Einstein was a native of Switzerland, whose first language was German. He was well known
as a scientist by the time he moved to the USA and became a naturalized American citizen.
He was in fact Jewish, which did in fact have a lot to do with his decision to leave Europe.
While we're on the subject, notice that not everyone who was Jewish and feared for his life
was presented with the opportunity to leave Germany.
Albert Einstein left Germany for Belgium in 1933. While out of the country, he heard about the upcoming Jewish boycott, and so decided not to return. Naturally, there was no way to predict the upcoming holocaust, but he did see that Germany was going into a dangerous direction. The Associated Press reported on April 1st, 1933 that his home was raided and his daughter, still in Germany at the time, had been mistreated. Old answers: No, Einstein left Germany before the holocaust. He went back to Germany, during the holocaust and helped 200 Jews escape to America. So no, he was not forced to leave because of the holocaust. He left before any of that was happening. He went to visit America when Adolf Hitler came to power in 1933, and decided not to go back for a while.
Why did people leave Germany by 2939
1915
No, of course not. On the contrary, they had to pay for permission to leave the country.
Until August 1941 Jews were allowed to emigrate from Germany and from Nazi-occupied Western Europe, provided they could find a country to accept them and could actually travel there. They were able to pay the fares (including meals and so on) in advance in Germany, but they were not allowed to take much money with them and had to pay for permission to leave Germany. In September 1941 Heydrich ordered a halt to all Jewish emigration - in anticipation of the Final Solution.
He had to leave Germany before Hitler would have put him in a camp for being Jewish.
Because when Hitler came to power he started anti semitism and Albert Einstein was jewish, if he hadn't left he probably would've ended up in a concentration camp.
