Good question...how did you find out about the repo fee?? Have you been repoed before?? Are you in default now?? If you're not in default, dont worry about it, hope they repo it so you can sue them.... IF you ARE in default, pay up today
Yes that is what it means. If you were behind on your payments and didn't call the lender to work out a deal before a repossession order was issued, Then you payed before a repo agent picked it up you are responsible to pay the repo fee and the lender is responsible for calling off the repo. If you have payed and the lender failed to call the repo agent and you get repoed you can bring up ''wrongfull repossession charges'' and that falls on the lender. In your signed contract you agreed to this and so did the lenders.
The above response is incorrect THE LENDER CANNOT CHARGE YOU FOR SOMETHING (a repo in this case)WHICH HAS NOT TAKEN PLACE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IF they try too.... SUE them and there "agents"
To my knowledge, the lender can ONLY repo when the loan is in DEFAULT. Does your acct. being minus put you in default????
no
of course he can, if he's tough enough. It's short for "Repossess". Loan companies that are not getting their loan payment from the person that borrowed the money hire or pay a fee to "Repo" companies that repossess such vehicles, ie. also boats, RV's, motorcycles, tractors trucks etc.
Repo men may call you at home if they are looking for the person who owes the debt. They are usually trying to locate the individual in order to repossess the property. If you are not the person they are looking for, you can inform them of that.
yes if it is open
Just because the company charged off the account, does not mean that they don't want to be paid...so if the car is still assessible...they can repo it. Charged off on your credit means that it is no longer an active paying account..the company took a loss for that amount. A different department, "Profit & Loss" will take over trying to collect any way possible. Sorry.
when repo man repossess the car and was in an accident before you can get it back, what happens
Absolutely ! So long as he has the correct paperwork - he can repossess the vehicle from anywhere.
He's not allowed to repossess your baby. Note: Child welfare service workers are not repo men; they CAN take your baby.
Yes, along with all other costs of the repo.
NOT LEGALLY.
30-60 days depending on the lender and your account.
