If your thermostat on your 98 Saturn is stuck open and takes the car a long time to heat up is there a way to keep it from staying stuck open also the car idles bad and when its normal temp it is ok?

If the thermostat is stuck in the open position, there is no way to keep it from staying open except by replacing it.
