Is There a low oil pressure sensor switch in the 2000 VW Jetta that cuts the motor off when there is little or no pressure?

There is a oil pressure sender on the oil filter/cooler assembly. It works between 1.2 and 1.6 bars. I have never heard of a safety cutoff or anything like that. If you go to a VW dealer you will find that the pressure sender part number was revised 3 times. Problems eh. Good luck.
