yes, butmay have to change speed sensor if wire connecto is different. axles are same
Swapping transmissions in a Taurus can be difficult because of all the changes ford made on these cars. For example 1991 and 1992 Taurus 3.0 liter transmissions are both axod-e but are not interchangeable because of electronic bulkhead connectors.Best to check with a transmission shop, most are happy to provide this information.
You mean a 1992 Taurus SHO... yes all the MTX transmissions are the same from 1989 to 1995. the regular Ford Taurus does not have a standard transmission.
No the 1992 transmission is only applicable to that year. Ford made many changes to these transmissions. Check with an auto wrecker or dealer before attempting any transmission swaps.
None of the Taurus trans pans have a drain plug.
no the Taurus is front wheel drive and the ranger rear wheel drive therefor the motor mounting and transmission set up are compltley different
No the 1992 is only applicable in that year. Be careful with transmission swaps on these vehicles. Ford made many changes to these transmissions. Check with an auto wrecker or ford for possible swaps.
The transmissions are interchangeable. The 1992 and the 1994 models were equipped with the exact same transmissions and transmission mounts.

I was told by a transmission company that the 1992 tranny can only be used for 1992 Taurus models, no exceptions. This is correct the axode in a 1992 3.0 Taurus has different bulk head connectors from valve body,it won't work.As well the 88 is an axod not a axode.
Yes the two transmissions are interchangeable.
The motor in a 1991 Accord is interchangeable with the engine in a 1992 Accord. They are only slightly different but will still interchange with no problems.
No, the 1992 Ford Taurus SHO is powered by a normally-aspirated Yamaha-developed 3.0L V6 engine.
