Western Hemisphere . The West/East hemispheres are defined by the Prime Meridian, '0' Longitude. This runs through Greenwich, England and in fact was started there. This leaves about 90% of the UK in Western Hemisphere.
The Prime Meridian, one of the dividing lines between the eastern and western hemispheres goes through the UK. Most of the UK is on the western side of it, but part of it is on the eastern side. The term "western world" is used sometimes, but does not correspond with the geographical western hemisphere. The UK and much of Europe are considered to be part of the western world, though they are not in the western hemisphere.
