No. If you want it done right, you better expect to put some real work into it. No simple solution will fix your problem. I speak from personal experience. Sincerely, the girl who is changing the starter on her own 95 Ford Probe SE
What engine ?
You can find the starter at the lower front part of the engine. You can change starter easily any time it has a fault.
No, this is a pretty easy repair, Make sure you disconnect the battery before removing the starter.
The Starter is not easy to change. First thing " Disconnect the battery". The starter is under the intake manifold and bolts into the transmission. You need to remove the intake and all related hoses and plastic parts as well as the hard plastic cooling pipe that basically sits above the starter. There are 2 bolts that hold it in and one is easy to get at and the other is a bit more difficult.
Disconnect - battery terminal Raise and support vehicle Disconnect wiring at starter Remove 2 mounting bolts Drop starter
Easy enough, 2 torx bolts going straight up from the starter, and dont forget to unhook the electricals.
It's on the passenger side of the vehicle, behind the battery, on the side wall. It's real easy to get to and change.
no it is not , your looking approx. 8.5 hrs in and out to replace a probe transmission....
Laying on your back under the vehicle! There are 3 bolts, 2 that are easy and the third which is on top of the starter, which you cannot see. Suggest you buy a NEW starter,as it is such a pain to change, you dont want to do it again anytime soon. Good luck Is there any way to change the starter without a floor jack/jack? The rinning boards are too low.
Easy: you call a professional to do it. The Probe windscreen is bonded directly to the car and is not a job for the DIY-er.
you have to pull the engin to get to it then its simple to change its only for bolts to remove the engin they come out farlly easy
The crank sensor is located beside starter, remove 2 starter bolts drop starter you will see it very easy took me 5 min the change mine, (maxamuscoal). P.s yes you have to remove starter there is no way around this.
