This question can be taken in two ways. Three important persons who believed in the Federalist philosophy of a strong central government were George Washington, John Adams and Alexander Hamilton. The three important people who wrote The Federalist Papers, which advocated adopting the new US Constitution are James Madison, John Adams and John Jay. It was ironic that John Adams and James Madison both favored the new Constitution but later on Madison's views changed so much that they thought each other had betrayed the ideals of the Revolution and disliked each other.
