In short, Palestine was occupied by the Israeli army with the help of the British army in 1947 right after the fall of the Otmane empire. They firstly took a small part at the Mediterranean Sea and in 1967, the 6 days war with the Arabs, Israel occupied the rest of Palestine from the sea to the Jordan river including Gaza. Israel withdrew from Gaza over 15-16 years ago because they could not handle it anymore due to heavy casualties they suffer, but they, with the help of the so-called free world, put Gaza and its population (over 2.3m citizens) under siege since then. Gaza mainly, including the west bank (Palestinian part west of Jordan river) suffer all types of occupation consequences including oppression, discrimination, killing, destruction, confiscation of lands/properties, imprisonment of the Arab Palestinian activists and militants ... until the conflict develops to what see and hear now.
