Should you let your 13 year old son wear a pantyhose?

Let him wear them, and don't make an issue of it. It might just be a phase or maybe he just likes the feel of the fabric. Little boys will often play around with their mother's clothes, partly because the fabric of many of them is different from his clothing and just feels good to him.

It could even be that he's simply trying to mimic you, which is common in children (with both parent's clothing). If it's not a phase he will let you know one day, but it's important you let the communication be open without judgment. And never make fun of him or try to shame him for wearing them. That would be the same as shaming him for being him.

But if the behavior continues when he's a bit older, then you may need to address it differently, but in a calm, loving manner, without making him feel he's doing something wrong.

Assuming your son is on the young side, say 8-12, then I wouldn't worry too much about it. The chances are good that wearing pantyhose is just a phase, and he will grow out of it. I'd imagine that he is doing it because he likes the feel of a sheer material on his legs. In no way does this mean that he is gay or somehow perverted, just that he likes pantyhose.

As long as he understands the limits of his behavior, (i.e. wearing hose is an at-home thing, he should be careful discussing what he is doing with his friends, maybe he should wear long pants while he wears hosiery,) and knows that what he is doing may make some people uncomfortable, he should be allowed to express himself in this manner.

You should be, or at least pretend to be, understanding and supportive. If he is made to feel shamed or embarrassed, it could lead to problems later in life. If it makes him happy, let him try this out for a while. Set limits if need be, and don't worry - lots of people do lots of things that others find...odd.

The 1st answer / advice here given ("Assuming your son...") is very good. I will just add that there is nothing wrong with this wearing. It is far more common than most people think. Many (not just 2 or 3) Hosiery companies now make / sell Pantyhose strictly for Men.

(also keep in mind, Men wore tights before Women. ) [It is just a society/television/magazines thing now that 99.997% of us sadly follow] Many Men even in the popular media always try to break out and wear Pantyhose in public. This happens every few years. "Grunge" Rock Music guys starting wearing cargo pants with long underwear, then switched to black tights, then navy or white and some went to sheer Pantyhose. But that was at the end of 'grunge' music and we didn't see much after that. But then it always starts again and again.

Not just Men in general but also in the military. Pantyhose (Nylons) are a great defense against blisters, and is taught by the US Air Force to males during cold climates to aid in wicking moisture away from the feet to prevent common foot related problems with too much moisture such as sweat induced trench foot during field exercises.

So would it seem do a lot of teenage boys. Just flicking through the questions in the Male Puberty category of WikiAnswers reveals quite number of boys with an interest in wearing girls underwear and clothing. Of itself it does no real harm and all I'd suggest is that it would be better for him to have pantyhose of his own for him to wear rather than risk possibly catching STDs through wearing someone elses.

A:The reasons for this if you ask them is usually that they find it more comfortable. If they keep it to themselves then nobody else will find out and be able to ridicule them over it. This being as long as they are not in an accident, but then again the emergency services are professional people and they would not lower themselves over what they see.

He should not be allowed to wear pantyhose. If he develops a habit of wearing them it will make things awkward for him. He will not be wearing a dress or skirt to be a successful man in life. Many females will be turned off by him wearing pantyhose. They will not want to date a guy who wears pantyhose.

In time his interest in them may pass. But if its indulged he might become addicted to them in an unhealthy way. It could lead to him wanting to wear skirts and dresses.

Best thing to do is have his mother model for him that its women who wear pantyhose. She can wear them at home sometimes or when they go out. He can see it modeled
