The Europeans definitely viewed the native people as a far inferior people than they were. The natives never saw people "cement" their homes on the land as opposed to their traditional ways. The Spaniards in the late 1490's through the 1500's only saw them as ripe for conversion as they started the period of the conquistadors in the lands of Mexico, Latin America, South America, and Caribbean. This was the period where the Spaniards demanded the natives to convert or die. The biggest killer of the Native Americans, at the time, were the diseases brought by the Spaniards. The population of the natives decreased dramatically as the Spanish formed cities where the diseases carried by the them were allowed to amplify to the unprotected native villages. In Canada, the French did also see the natives inferior however they became very good trading partners for fur. There was very little relocation there as opposed to the English who only saw the devil in the Indians. The Dutch before them, feared them but had a good relationship with the natives. The English demanded the Native Americans submit to the English sovereignty and confined them to areas where they weren't in the way. Later, it would be due to "Manifest Destiny" in taking the natives land by Americans.

How do you develop prejudice?

Prejudice can develop through socialization processes, such as upbringing and media influences, which shape our beliefs and attitudes toward certain groups. Additionally, limited exposure to diverse perspectives and experiences can contribute to stereotypes and biases, which can evolve into prejudice. It is important to actively challenge and unlearn prejudiced beliefs through education, empathy, and promoting inclusivity.
