Bad spark plug?
Bad plug wire?
Bad valve?*
Bad piston?* Do a compression check to check engine internal condition
If your check engine light is blinking that means an ignition misfire has been detected
The engine is running rough, either just at idle or also during acceleration. Look at the FAQ's for rough idle and engine shaking problems for your specific symptoms. The gas cap hisses because the air is coming out (it was trapped under pressure). That is nrmal when your tank is less than half full (which would also be the time you take the cap off to put gas in. Hope this helps!
The Corolla could be shaking for many reasons. Start by checking the wheel bearings and brakes for wear. Then check the engine to see if it running rough, causing the shake.
Low fuel pressure, clogged air filter or off timing can all cause rough running. There could be sensor issues or more serious engine internal problems.
black exhaust, rough idle, miss in engine, rough operation of vehicle lower performance, higher fuel consupmtion
Check your motor mounts.AnswerHow does it drive. If rough, then I would expect a mis-fire. AnswerCheck the timing? AnswerBecause the engine is defective, you should replace it with new one.
Sometimes broken engine mounts, rough engine performance problems, worn out harmonic balancers, and transmission problems. People expect to get a specific answer for all of their questions, especially in automobiles, but in reality, an automobile is a complex piece of machinery that needs very precise inputs and calibrations to run properly. Thus, there are many different arrays of problems that can cause similar symptoms. Other causes at speed are bent wheel, tire out of balance. warped rotor, etc.
If your car is shaking it could be poor suspension alignment can cause a car to shake and vibrate, and other possible causes are bent or worn suspension parts, old tires, bent wheels and bad brakes. If your car sounds especially rough at speed, the problem could lie with the car's spark plugs and wires. Spark plugs fire more frequently the faster you drive, and the engine will sound rough when they begin to fail.
Your car shaking could be caused by many things. If it is shaking while the vehicle is stationary, it is most likely to be caused by your engine running rough. This has many causes also. Some common causes would be: 1. that your engine is not running on all cylinders - You may have a broken or loose High Tension lead, busted spark plugs or fualty injectors. 2. It could also be caused by the timing being out so your uel is being ignited at the incorrect time in the cycle. 3. Possibly thown your harminic balancer out, or broken and engine mount. The best bet would be to take it to a mechanic or someone who could check these things for you.
One thing could be an over used belt or a leak of antifreeze
this car is known to have an appearance of a rough idle even when everything is fine and a history of short-lived motor mounts
EGR should turn on Service Engine light on 96 and later. The tube / pipe to the exhaust manifold can also become blocked. EGR could cause rough engine. Many other possibilities.
