Sometimes the reservoir tank is broken, where the water pump is located. Im sorry, I was confussed with the winshield tank. But, the coolant reservoir tank sometimes leak in small holes in the base or near the cap.
sounds like the water pump went possible blown head gasket
It snaps in. But before you snap it out, take the nut out that holds the pipe to the exhaust manifold.
water in the oil , steam from engine near gasket surface, lossing coolant with no visible leak
It can leak oil out from the rear of the intake manifold gasket. The oil sending unit is right behind the distributor and it can leak oil too. There is also a gasket that fits on the bottom of the distributor where it goes into the intake that can leak. And the worse thing it could be is the rear main gasket leaking oil and you would have to remove the transmission to repair that.
throttle body" fuel", cooling system separate. On a 3.8 engine the throttle body and upper plenum contain coolant. There is a gasket between them that could leak. More important the upper pleninum on the 3.8 engine often develops a leak near the EGR inlet which is in the area you are concerned with.
Could be a hose, intake manifold or bad tank in the radiator. If the water pump is bad you will know it for sure!
