Could be transmission bands are worn and require adjustment or replacement Try changing Transmission Fluid and filter
This is a internal problem, I had same thing wrong and I replaced all I could then brought it to shop and he said the bands are slipping
The AT check signal light means that there is something is wrong with the transmission. A slipping transmission can be the cause of this.
You probably have a slipping clutch band in your transmission. Take it to a transmission shop.
It's the transmission computer.you need to replace it.
what exactly is wrong?
The transmission is probably slipping. It's possible the transmission bands may need to be adjusted though, so you should take it to a mechanic to be sure.
It sounds like your transmission is slipping. I would recommend taking to a transmission shop for evaluation. slipping transmission, or bad torque convertor, or if it was more like a snap, you could have busted your transaxle. (i did it twice by neutral-dropping) Sounds like what happened to mine when I broke the axel.
Depends on where you live and what is wrong with it. Expect to pay $2,000 for a complete rebuild.
Depends on the type of transmission you have. If it's an automatic, check the transmission fluid with the vehicle running to make sure it isn't low. If it's not and the transmission slips you've probably got an internal problem inside the transmission. If it's a manual transmission it could be the hydraulic fluid is low if you have a hydraulic clutch, or it could be the clutch itself. If you've got an older clutch that's not hydraulic, it could be out of adjustment, or the clutch itself is bad.
Could be you are low on power steering fluid or your belt is slipping.
It could just be a detent, but most likely the bearings are going in the transmission and it's a little mis-aligned when you try to go, pushing it out of gear.
It's not shifting into neutral, the 3rd gear "drive" band is slipping. Time for rebuild.
