We don't call it the Empire any more. We call it the Commonwealth.

Canada, Australia and New Zealand still recognise the Queen as head of state, but are of course self-governing.

Anguilla, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Falkland Islands, Gibraltar, Montserrat, Pitcairn Islands, St Helena and the Turks and Caicos Islands are the only remaining, inhabited, overseas territories left of the Empire

England doesn't 'own' any countries. When the British Empire was at its most powerful about 150 years ago, around 50 countries were part of that Empire including Australia, Canada, India, New Zealand, South Africa and many other African countries. Most of these countries are still part of the Commonwealth of Nations although they are politically independent. Some have still chosen to have Queen Elizabeth II as their Head of State.
