Some countries in the Far East do eat cats and dogs. China is the only country where dog and cat meat trade is legal; in Korea, dog meat trade is illegal, but the law just isn't enforced, so dog meat is popular there, Vietnam and the Philippines tend to eat cats and dogs as well.

Actually the trade of cat meat is technically illegal in China.
