The Ancient Romans spent their leisure time, going to the bath houses, to connect with one another, and also to cleanse themselves. Also the Olympics took place every year, and was a great celebration. ∙ 10y agoOne of the biggest things a Roman could do for fun was go to the coliseum to watch battles between two people, people and animals, animals and animals, and other such events. They also enjoyed going to the theatre to watch plays. Another thing they could do is go to public bath houses to cleanse themselves and connect with each other. Hunting was popular for fun as well as food. They had board games amd played Chess and their own version of tic-tac-toe.

∙ 11y agoThe Roman had many forms of amusement just as we do. For public entertainment there was theater, the races and the various events held in the Colosseum. They could also just sit in one of the many parks (called gardens ) and watch one of the many religious parades march by. There were exercises areas and libraries connected with the public baths. In the baths and in most gardens there were ball courts or cleared areas where groups could get together for one of the many ball games that the Romans played. A far as private amusement went, they had boards games and many different dice games for the adults. The children had rattles for babies, pull toy for toddlers, dolls for the girls and play swords and shields for the boys. A carving of a small boy driving a goat cart is depicted in one of the tombs.

There was also street dancing and street acrobats. The Romans also went to the theatre. Rich people hired entertainers for their dinner parties.

∙ 12y agoThe Romans had fun pretty much the same way as we do--they did what they enjoyed doing. Some of their fun things were spectator events held in the public arenas, participating in various sports, playing board games, dice games, discussing philosophy, reading, traveling, etc.
