What does it mean when your car jerks?

If your car jerks, you likely have stepped on the gas pedal a bit too hard but it could be an indication that there is something wrong with the engine or transmission

If your engine is At Fault it likely be the engine coil, pistons, cylinders, or head gasket if any are cracked or missing parts or just from wear and tear it can cause jerking of the engine... if it is the engine it is a minor problem but if you have it like that enough time of shifting and driving normally... it can cause more problems to the engine then the expense to fix it could be huge

If it is a transmission problem, the gear and the mechanism is not functioning properly. A faulty transmission can cause unwanted jerking if it does not go into the proper gear as selected. This could be from a bad transmission, blown transmission or the lack of Transmission Fluid which is critical for the gears to change properly without it the mechanism will no support when the gear changes it simply just wont function correctly. If the transmission is at fault it is obviously critical to get it fixed before you cause serious damage to your car....
