Use a clip removal tool that can be had at the parts stores or break the handle like I did and buy a new one. Those idiots at GM will never learn. The clip is too far in to really get at it easily for removal....unless you have the TOOL. Good luck. A brake spring tool is used for the removal and replacment of springs utilized in drum brake assemblies.
There is a spring clip on the back of the handle that you have to get off before the handle will pull off, go to the parts store and get the special window crank removal tool to get it off.

With a Toyota leaf spring removal tool. Just go to your local Toyota dealer, head into the parts dept, and tell 'em you need a leaf spring removal tool for a 92 pick up. If their any kind of dealer, they will have it in stock.
where is the friction retaining clip at, I do not want to break it? With the use of a small flat screwdriver or a bent nylon tool made for arm removal, gently pry the friction retaining clip that's under the arm at the spindle side. Once the clip is moved forward, the arm will slide right off. You can buy the windshield wiper removal tool for around $4.50 at www.toolsource.com
You have to have a window crank remover, this tool looks like a U on a stick, and you slide this tool in between the the crank and the door panel and trip the lock pin, then the crank will pull off.
Most window handles are either held on with a screw or a clip. Your has a clip and you need a window handle removal tool to get the clip off. They are inexpensive and most auto parts stores sell them.
There is a clip behind the handle. You remove the clip and the handle comes off, just remember they are a bear to put back on with out the handle removal tool.

There should be a horseshoe clip behind the hand that needs to come off and then it will just pull off. If you use a hook tool you can get it off or a clip removal tool. Push in on the panel slightly and you should be able to see it.
Search for Youtube video "1950 Chevrolet Door Handle Clip Removal" Insert handle removal tool from same side as handle, rotate about 30 degrees left or right and you will feel the point of the tool drop in behind the snap-ring. Continue rotating tool in the same direction to remove clip.
