usually whats known as a blower resistor
You will need to replace the blower motor control unit located inside the blower motor housing, this part is not the same as the part on standard explorers, it is not the same blower motor resistor.
under the blower motor housing. to the right
What model? This probably has electronic Climate control, therefore there isn't a Blower resistor. The blower is controlled by a Blower Motor Module...its mounted on the HVAC case under the hood near/next to the blower motor.
Check your fuses(there to protect the wires), also there maybe a relay switching power to the front blower that has failed. Relays allow low current switches or controls to activate high current circuits(blower motor). Other possible causes blower failed, connector bad, or wiring.
Note to all: If you have Automatic Temp Control (electronic temp setting), there is no resistor: just the blower control module (which you'll see just to lower right of blower fan, 2 screws hold it in, pop off the fan and you'll see it). The stores will sell you a resistor or condensor, or even a switch, but it has none of the above!!!! (I spent a week looking everywhere for what the stores were saying was there somewhere behind fan!)
I have an 89 Delta 88 and if you have Electronic Climate Control there is a control module located just right(passenger side) of center at the firewall. It is in the same location as the blower fan resister assembly on a car with standard a/c controls.
It could be the blower itself as well. The first thing I would do is find the wattage of the blower (dc, I assume.) and connect the ground. Is there power to the unit?
RH under hood, between blower and evaporator according to diagram. The blower control module is most likely the culprit. It was on my 87 covette ,easy to replace but cost about $150.00
Yes. First check to see that you have 12 volts to the blower motor. If yes, blower motor has probably failed. If no, it may be the blower motor relay or there is a speed control resister pack causing your problem.
it on the blower motor housing
If will be mounted right near the blower motor itself.... attached to the blower motor via a cable.... held in place in it's mounting by 2 screws. You need to be a contortionist to get to it. Good luck.
The 1995 Ford Explorer blower motor relay switch can be found in the fuse box. The blower motor relay switch will be in the third column, second from the top.
