use brake fluid
could be a broken engine mount
You don't repair a serpentine belt. You replace the worn or broken belt with a new one.
I have a 1994 mitsubishi mirage and a yellow wire has broken off the alternator i have no idea where it goes. I need help my car will no longer go.
maybe its broken.
Yes you can. Mine had broken off, and I have been driving for months without it. It was winter, so I did not mind. Now that warmer weather is coming, I will have it fixed.
You need to get a plug from a junkyard to figure this out. Mitsubishi wont even help because they figure it would be unsafe to wire it manually even if done by a PRO.
remoremove the timing belt cover, remove old belt after aligning timing marks on cams and crank gear if still in one pc. if broken belt, align marks, install belt-making sure marks are still aigned when belt is tight
When the belt broke, it could have hit some of the wiring that controls the engine managment system. Crank sensor, Cam sensor, any number of things. I would start to trace down wires and make sure they are still connected and not cut or broken.
Could be a bad thermostat - not closing completely to allow the coolant temperature to rise properly If you're driving a Chrysler (Dodge, Plymouth, Jeep, Eagle, Mitsubishi included) check for a broken thermostat. Does your engine fully warm up? Also, check for the following: -bad or missing thermostat -blend door malfunction (or on GM with automatic climate control, out of calibration). On Taurus/Sable and Exploder/Mountaineer the door often breaks where the actuator fits into it. -on Mitsubishi cars especially Galant, broken blend door or cable slipping. -restricted (clogged) heater core, try flushing or replace as needed -low engine coolant level (fill radiator) -on Chrysler MPV, if affects rear heat only, restricted coaxial pipe
You have a broken spring in the steering column
There is probably a car part or fuze broken. Buy a Mustang!
Go to NAPA Auto Parts and ask them to order a new switch. They can be sure to help you find the correct part. Their website says they run around $44 for a new one. Or check your local import parts salvage yard for a Galant of your vintage and pull it there. (be sure it works or you may end up with TWO broken windshield wiper levers haha)
