(No clue what vehicle you are asking about )
There are several types, If you have space behind the connection you can pick up a 3/4" or 5/8" disconnect tool easily at an auto parts store, (usually called fuel line quick disconnect tools) If there is less than 1/2 inch of room behind the clip (its against the firewall)you will have to find one that fits your vehicle. Look on the web for "Heater Hose Quick Disconnect tool".
i.e Heater hose Disconnect tool for Ford
There will be one of two types the easiest looks like a ring goes over the metal part of the fitting (behind it) and you push it into the fitting it spreads the clips out and the hose pulls off (sometimes you need to push in then pull out)
the other is for tight fitting areas (1987 to current Chrysler Town & Country, Dodge Caravan, and Plymouth Voyager, 1986 to current Ford Aerostar vans and 1990 & later Econoline vans)
To use it push the tool over the clips over the tabs that stick out of the fitting push in pull out .. they come off pretty easily if you can get to them.
The Chrysler / Ford can be obtained through Amazon ASIN:B000H6W3VG
The Chevy heater hose removal tool is a plastic piece that clamps around the hose. The tool slides into the fitting to release the hose.
buy the "Lisle Tool Heater Hose Coupler Remover #62200" from a parts store like Advance
It take a special tool to release the hose connector. I went to O'Rielly and they show me the Dorman Quick Disconnect replacement part ($6.29) and the Disconnect tool set ($19.99). It took the 3/4" disconnect tool to release the broken hose connector on my GMC truck. Snap on the 3/4" disconnect tool onto the heater core tube, then slide the tool into hose connector to release the dog ears inside the connector. Then pull the connector off. It took me about 30 second to remove the disconnect once I had the connect tools.
YES. You need a special tool to remove the quick disconnect hose.
How to I remove the heater core hose from my 1998 Mazda MPV from the motor. The hose is hidden from view. Can't get a tool or my hands inside the small space to remove the clip. Can you help me?
That is called a quick disconnect fitting and it requires a SPECIAL tool to get it loose.
You need a hose release tool that can be brought a most auto parts. put on at end of hose connection and pull towards hose, It will go into the fitting and release the tangs that hold it to the barb.
GM Heater Line Quick-Connect Release Tool this will do it. Otherwise you need to try and use a hacksaw to cut it off, though I wouldn't recommend it, might cut the line into the heater coil
Hi Do you mean heater coil, or heater CORE? Im am going to try one tomorrow or the next day. By the manual it does not seem too bad, but you may need a special tool to disconnect the heater hose from the core.
Yes, there is a tool for that. But, I just carefully cut mine off with a drimel tool. Just be careful not to tug or bend on it too much... don't want to break the metal nipple from the heater core!
Yes there is a special tool to reach in and discconect the hoses, parts store should have one,got mine from NAPA (ultra pro)
you may have to remove the intake from the block and then use an extractor tool to remove the rest. then replace the connector.
