Honda trannies take special fluid you can only get at a Honda dealer and yes going through the dipstick is the easiest way to fill it
This isn't entirely true. Older Honda models have had a specification of Z-1 . It has been replaced by a new specification in newer models which is DW-1. The Honda Transmission Fluid (whichever the type) will cover both of these.
However, there are many different brands that cover the old Z-1 specification. Some examples are:
Valvoline Max Life DEX/MERC (Covers Honda/Acura ATF Z-1 (Except CVT) Part # 324
Pennzoil Synthetic Multi Vehicle ATF (Covers ATF Z-1) Part # 550035073
Hope this helps!
