What religion was Henry VIII's son?

Henry VIII was a Supporter of the Roman Catholic Church and a supporter of the Pope. HE WAS ROMAN CATHOLIC. He had wrote a book against Martin Luther and Protestantism.

Henry was a very self indulgent man of excesses. His thinking was centered around having a male heir, mistresses, and hunting/jousting and partying at court.

His first wife,Katherine of Aragon had 8 children, but only a girl survived(to become Mary I)...Katherine was too old to have any more children, and Henry wanted to marry Anne Boleyn who was younger and he'd fallen in love with her. He wanted an annulment from Katherine. The pope refused as it would anger Charles V(her nephew). Charles was the most powerful ruler in Europe at the time and gave the most money to Rome. (The Catholic Church didn't believe in divorce, and Henry couldn't execute Katherine either-or face war with her uncle Charles V.)

Henry got frustrated and angry and declared that England was an empire of its own, and wasn't to be ruled by outsiders. He proclaimed himself as head of the Church in England, thus breaking from Papal rule. HENRY ONLY WANTED AN ANNULMENT, and NOT TO OUT AND OUT CHANGE THE CHURCH IN ENGLAND....He actually spent the rest of his life worried about what he'd done and made no actual changes within the Church of England, a man name Thomas Cramner did most of the changes.

Even though Henry considered himself a Roman Catholic his last wife was a Protestant and helped raise Edward after Henry's death. Because of this Edward was Protestant and did not like the changes his sister Mary did when she became Queen
