By the end of the expedition, Lewis and Clark found and categorized 122 new animals and 178 plants, mapped the geography, and achieved friendlier relations with the natives. However, they did not find an all water route to the Pacific Ocean.

Lewis and Clark went out on an expedition in search of new found land. They had just bought the Louisiana Purchase from Napoleon. My class is doing this and we have learned that Jefferson needed $2,500 from congress for Lewis and Clark's expedition. They needed fund for scientific supplies, journals, food, guns and etc.
