The colony was Rhode Island. He and many of the Massachusetts settlers were apparently not content with the laws there.
Quakers settled in Pennsylvania...founder of William PennWilliam Penn was the absolute proprietor of Pennsylvania (he held the royal charter) and had pronounced religious tolerance for all. Other colonies were often religiously linked and intolerant of religious views outside narrow limits. He welcomed Catholics and Quakers among others. Because the Colony was established as a refuge for European Quakers. Pennsylvania was a favorable place to settle: climate, land, port and government. Philadelphia was at the time the best developed city in the continent.Because the Colony was established as a refuge for European Quakers. You see, William Penn was a friend of king Charles the second and the king did not want to kill William Penn for being a quaker. So he basicly gave him a grant to find land so he would escape persicution. Then have a place for religious freedom.
to find religious freedom and have food, gold ,and land and spices but mostly for freedom
No they didn't. During the Reformation the only church tolerated was the Church of England and all others were driven out and the people arrested. The Pilgrims were one of these groups who were not given religious freedom and they left to find it elsewhere.
ANSWERThe pilgrims sailed to the new world to find religious freedom.ANSWERThey had to go away from Europe because persecuted by the Church. Cause of their different religion they were considered dangerous and heretics by the Catholic church. Regaurding the cause of why they were considered so... it can be said they were considered heretics because their belief had some points that couldn't be accepted by the Church: this from a purely religious point of view. the other reason is that the Church at those times was afraid that some religious groups if left "uncontrolled" could get too much power: this is from a more realistic political point of view. That's why the piligrims decided to sail to the new world.
I think that the most important reason the Pilgrims came to the New World (America) was that they were seeking religious freedom. Some people were given the option to go to the New World because it was too expensive to keep them in jail. Others went to make a fresh start and some were even political refugees. I think these are some of the most important reasons because going to the New Wold and starting a whole new life in an unknown place is a huge decision that you shouldn't take lightly.
Religious tolerance for Quakers
Because King Charles II owed Penn's father money, Penn asked for a charter as payment. Being a Quaker, he saw the opportunity to aid those who were being persecuted in Britain. Like other groups, many Quakers would move to the New World to have religious freedom.

He found Rhode Island for Religious Freedom. Anne Hutchinsion helped find Portsmith, Rhode Island. They both were banned from the Massacucettes colony.
to make a haven for Quakers
Some of them were coming over to find religious freedom, like the Quakers, while others sought economic opportunities in the New World.
The Virgina colony was not concerned with religious freedom. The 105 men who arrived on the James River to form Jamestown were there to make money or get rich from finding gold. They didn't prepare themselves for the colony to be successful and within the first 7 months only 34 were alive. One of the fables of our history is that all settlers came to find religious freedom and this is not true. Jamestown is a prime example of that as false.
King Charles II gave the region that would become North Carolina to his friends, known as Lord Proprietors, as a gift. The Lord Proprietors offered freedom of religion to settlers and attracted a large number of Anglicans, Quakers, Presbyterians, Baptists, Lutherans and Methodists to the colony.
to find freedom
Rhode Island was based upon principles of religious toleration meaning that it was meant for people to escape from the religious hold of their state or country and find freedom to believe in what they wanted.why is the hell up
I have not been able to find a direct definition of a religious colony, but I would assume that yes, Rhode Island was a religious colony as it was basically formed by the followers of Anne Hutchinson, the founder of Antinomianism.
To find religious freedom.
