if you just started driving this vehicle(recent purchase...etc. ) a high speed torque converter may have been installed for fast accelleration or a different valve body in the
transmission could have been installed. if this recently started, start with new fluid and filter in transmission. not difficult to do on GM rear wheel drive. buy a repair manual first and go at it, or expect to pay 150 up.
if its auto check the fluid, linkage, or take it to the shop and have em take it apart the tranny
dirty tranny fluid
Cable too slack.
The tranny uses a preset program to shift that is computer based. You use your right foot on the gas pedal to get the trooper up to speed for the shift to happen in the normal driving scenario.
If your transmission doesnt shift until 35 mph then check your vaccum hose on your transmission.... i had the same prob. and that is what it was because it is a vaccum shift tranny and without the vaccum then it will shift at really high rpms.
Check your transmission shift solenoids
i had same problem. what i did is replca the tranny filter and tranny oil, and solve my problem try it. i had same problem. what i did is replca the tranny filter and tranny oil, and solve my problem try it.email me see how you doin -rockandroland117@yahoo.caANSWE ANSWER= shift lockout. some times wheel sensors will go out and the shift lockout will occur to prevent further damage to tranny.
Yep, then shift from second to third gear.
You need to change the input and output sensors on the tranny
This tranny has a the feature of putting itself into "limp" mode when it senses a problem with itself. Limp mode is full-time second gear.
The second shift is a woman's "shift" of work at home, consisting of housework. (The "first shift" being their job.)
Many things are inputed to tell the tranny to shift. The Solonoid pack executes the shift, and the transmission control module tells it when to shift. A good resouce is www.allpar.com.
