I have a 1995 Cadillac Deville, 4.9 engine also, I believe the problem is the oil pump is going bad and the oil is not being properly pressurized. I've already replaced the oil switch located above the oil filter on the engine block, but you have to remove the air filter holding unit first to get to it. As soon as I find someone who can replace mine at a reasonable cost, I'll let you know if that was the problem. Also don't forget to check your oil level first. This engine only holds 5 quarts of oil in the engine alone, and another 1/2 quart in the oil filter itself. Totaling 5 1/2 quarts. Good Luck!

1999 Chevy blazer there is a knocking coming from the engine when it is in idle and when you accelerate the knocking gets louder and faster. What could cause this to happen?

What is the reason for a knocking noise when i drive i changed ball joints and control arms i noticed my axels have holes in the boots and they also have some play Is that the cause of the knocking?

If when you turn a corner the knocking noise gets louder and more pronounced, then you have defective CV joints. The fact that the boots have holes in them, would indicate that water and dust has been able to contact the joints. This will cause them to self-destruct. This can be very dangerous, and if one breaks while you are driving you may have an accident. Replace th CV joints and replace the boots covering them.

What is the cause of the knocking if tie rod change?

Perhaps a worn CV joint (usually more of a clicking sound when turning), but there are many components in the front end of a motor vehicle that could cause a knocking (or similar) sound, including suspension components, brakes, steering components and bearings. Worn tie rods, by the way, do not normally cause a knocking sound, but result in very loose feeling steering and noticeable drift, especially at highway speeds. A knocking sound is more likely to be an engine problem, such as pre-ignition. If you are not accustomed to diagnosing these sounds, you will best best off to see a qualified mechanic, or a friend who is more familiar with the front-end components of a motor vehicle.

What would cause my Ford Mustang to have a knocking sound that gets louder as I accelerate?

How's your oil pressure? Sounds like there's a little deamon in the bottom of your crankcase hitting your rods with a hammer? Maybe it's time for a rebuild or better yet, another motor.
