Slaves were not "kidnapped" from Africa (t least not by Europeans). Warring tribes in Africa would capture prisoners from defeated tribes and they sold those prisoners to Europeans in exchange for weapons and other manufactured goods.
She didn't
slavery stop because slaves went up north to get jobs and have a better life.
The white nations originally colonized Africa to stop the slave trade. The only way to stop it was by controlling the ports on the coast. If they controlled the ports, boats could not ship the slaves. Once they were there, they expanded their operations inland. They did not just remain in the ports. They stayed and even went in deeper into the continent long after slavery was eliminated throughout the Americas. The Americans have an expression: give an inch, they take a mile. Likewise, the arabs: The camel has his nose under the tent.
The Underground Railroad was not a railroad; it was a network of safe houses where slaves could stay until it was safe to move on farther north to the next "stop."
Since the underground railroad wasn't a real railroad, but a method for slaves to escape north there wasn't a conductor. Some times people like Harriet Tubman would lead people, but many times they were just told what the next stop was until they got north.

It was a series of stops to the north. The slaves were hidden from stop to stop and no one from one stop to another knew the next stop. So, it was "underground".
