∙ 6y agoHer Majesty Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom was born in London on 21st April 1926. On the first, second or third Saturday of June each year she has an "official birthday" which is marked by a military parade called The Trooping of the Colour or the Queen's Birthday Parade. Many Commonwealth countries have a public holiday on the official birthday and there is usually a list of Royal Honours announced. The practice of having this celebration in June was started by her great grandfather, King George V because the weather is usually better in London at that time of year.
