The duty is $8 per 1 case (24 cans of beer). I would imagine the same would be true for 1 liter of hard alcohol. Beer in Canada costs about $26 - $36 per case and around $36 for a liter of hard alcohol.

Large cruise ship's rule for bringing wine on board?

The rules apply slightly differently to the ship or to passengers. For the ship's store of alcohol to serve in their restaurants and bars, they will have limits typically based on the number of people aboard. There could be many sources of rules for bringing alcohol aboard. (1) The nation where the ship is registered may have laws that the passenger vessel must operate under. (2) The company that owns the vessel may have policies in place. (3) The visiting nations will have laws about bringing alcohol into their waters. (4) Within the constraints of the first three, the captain's word is law on board. Even if the above three say it's alright, the master of the vessel can prohibit passengers bringing alcohol aboard. If you are allowed to bring your own wine aboard as a passenger, it will likely be no more than 1-2 bottles. It's best to check with the cruise ship company to clarify. (Tobacco also)
