The last red moon or lunar eclipse of 2009 will occur on December 31, 2009. It will be visible from Africa, Europe, Asia, and Australia. The previous lunar eclipses in 2009 were on Feb 9, 2009, July 7, 2009, and August 6.

There will be no solar eclipses visible in the UK this year - or in this lifetime. The next solar eclipse visible in the UK will be on September 23, 2090, and will cover the southern tip of England and Cornwall.

On December 21,2010, there will be a total lunar eclipse. The Moon will set in England during the eclipse.
