You need to change the downstream sensor that is after the Catalytic Converter
hi! it's the downstream oxygen sensor located right after the catalytic converter,,
Replace the Downstream O2 sensor (after the catalytic converter)

Trouble code P0161 means:O2 sensor heater circuit malfunction (Bank 2 Sensor 2)
Trouble code P0161 means:O2 sensor heater circuit malfunction (Bank 2 Sensor 2)
Trouble code P0161 means:O2 sensor heater circuit malfunction (Bank 2 Sensor 2)
there is no activity on sensor # 2
It is caused by Bank 2 Sensor 2 oxygen sensor failing.
P0161 is 02 sensor 2/2 heater performance.
From the service manual: P0161 2/2 O2 Sensor Heater Failure Oxygen sensor heater element malfunction. "2/2" means the error refers to the downstream (of the catalytic converter) on the right side (from the driver's perspective). That implies you must have a California model, with four O2 sensors (two upstream, and two downstream sensors). So, the catalytic converters referred to are the "mini" converters which are just small bulges in the downpipes that come down from the exhaust manifolds. The O2 sensors would be just downstream from those mini catalytic converters, but before the exhausts from the two sides of the engine join up and go to the big main catalytic converter. Per the Haynes, for Town & Country, P 0601 is an internal Powertrain Control Module fault. This relates to the numbers you provided, but may need to be verified as applicable to your model.
