I have a 1989 Dodge Raider with 3.0 L V6. My sending unit was dust. The "Pump and Pipe Assembly" (which includes the sending unit) is available at my local Mitsubishi dealer (not Dodge dealer) and is part number mb598094. They want $772.68 for it! If you've got to have a new one, there is a dealer at www.ricartmitsubishiparts.com who will sell the same OEM part for $579.51 if you do the entire transaction over the internet. I had the same question and could never find it, I just found it today when I was looking for my spark plug heat range. Of course that means you would need a factory hood that is still legible to see the label. Also in my searching i found, that the Mitsubishi Montero is pretty much the same car as the raider if you didn't know.

If you tow an automatic for more than 40 miles, or over 45MPH, you will ruin the transmission. this is not necessarily correct. depends on year of montero. mine is a 1989 dodge raider (re-badged montero sold by dodge), v-6, 4wd AUTO. it flat tows behind either of our motorhomes by putting the transfer case shifter in the 'false' neutral that exists (without being labeled on the floor plate). i built a simple hinged bracket going across the top of the plate, which catches the shifter in neutral for towing. took about an hour to do it. this fully disengages the tranny for flat towing. several folks i know use this method, saving me from frying mine while attempting it the first time. THIS WORKS ON 1ST GEN MONTEROS! don't know about anything other than 1987-1989 models. I would like to contact someone who has a Dodge Raider V6, automatic, 4wd and has used this technique for towing. I have one and would like to do this but need a bit more information. Thank You!
