I've never seen a Honda which has a tranny filter. Just a drain plug and that's it. There is no drain pan, therefore you can't take off a drain pan to change the filter (if it had one). I own a 2002 CRV and a 97 accord. You can purchase a filter at any auto parts store, they are about $12.00. And yes the 1999 cr-v does have a filter, it is located on top of tranny.
The Transmission dipstick for a 1999 Honda CRV is located under the hood of the car. It is just below the air intake, and usually has a yellow or red cap.
It is inside of the transmission. You must remove the transmission pan to service it. The pan is on the bottom of the transmission. It holds trans. fluid and the filter.
Drop the transmission oil pan
It will require around five quarts.
remove pan, change filter, reinstall pan, fill fluid.
Inside the trany. cover. need to drop the trany pan to get to it.
on the tranmission take off the big square pan
It snaps on.
125 quarts
Automatic: It is located above the transmission fluid filter on the front of the transmission. Manual: There is no Transmission fluid trmperature sensor for the Manual transaxle
Red cylinder? You mean the transmission filter? Is the fluid red? Eric
yes .. Change filter, then try output and input transmission speed sensors.
