There are no truly 'British' people or peoples. The Welsh are mainly Germanic and Celtic, and in the south much English blood as have the Scots who have Norwegian, Danish, Celtic, English and various other strains. (Dumfries means the Frisian people)

These two countries call themselves the 'original 'Britons but in reality their roots are similar to those of the English who came from southern Denmark and Northern Germany and the Frisian islands of the North Sea.
