the fuel pump relay is mounted on a bracket next to the brake booster
There is no fuel pump relay on a 85 s10 because it is carberated.
Check in the fuse box
inside the gas tank
Any auto parts store can quote you a price.
The main relay, located at the back of the fuse box, is a direct coupler type which contains relays for the ECU power supply and fuel pump power supply.
I may be way off, but in my '85 240, the relay is beneath the dash on the passenger side. I don't know if it was moved after 85. Good luck. Yes that's right, its under the dash , its easiest to take out the glove box to get at it. You don't have to take the glove box out to remove the fuel pump relay. If you're thinking of the overdrive relay you would be correct. To remove the fuel pump relay, you have to remove the cloth cover under the passenger side of the dashboard. The relay is rectangular, and attached to the firewall by a metal clip. It's white in color and the part number is 3523608.
Underneath the air filter, its mounted on the fuel line
If you have a 4 pin relay marked in clockwise rotation as 87-85-30-86 jump the terminal sockets corresponding to 30 and 87.For a complete understanding of how relays work, view the first 4 videos on this site.http://mikestrawbridge.com/blog/2009/09/how-to-jump-the-fuel-pump-relay-on-a-jeep-cherokee-xj/
On my 1991 Z28 TPI the fuel pump relay, which is what I think you're looking for, is located on the firewall above the power brake booster. There are three relays, the outer two control the cooling fans and the middle one controls the fuel pump. Good Luck, Steve
gas or diesel
