There should be a mark on the distributor or it's switch plate that indicates where the rotor should point for cylinder 1. If you look at the distributor from the front of the vehicle, the closest center position should be for cylinder 2. Clockwise 1/8 th turn from that should be cylinder 1 position, but double check against the indicator mark that should be present.
The marked # 1 position on the distributor cap faces to the FRONT / CENTER
#1 on the distributor cap of a Dodge 360 faces to the front - inline with the center of the engine ( according to the picture in my Chilton repair manual )
The marked # 1 position on the distributor cap faces to the FRONT and center of the engine
# 1 on the distributor cap faces to the FRONT / CENTER
At TDC compression it points to the number one post on the cap.
the cap should be marked .cylinder one goes towards the back of the intake at about seven o'clock if you are looking at the distributor 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2- firing order cyl 1 drivers side front.number 2 pass front
Facing your engine, on the right side and closest to the radiator.
It does not have one.
165432 is the firing order for my 1989 Dodge Ram Truck, but what is the rotation of the distributor (clockwise?) and location of number one plug?
the number one is located to the right (towards engine)of the left instalation screw of the cap. if you are able to see it it has 1 on the cap.
