To the right of oil filter, at back of engine block. Viewed from driver's side wheel looking in. Will have 1 wire connection. I think it's red with white stripe.
It is near the thermostat. can you give a better location left or right of thermostate above or below it

According to my Chilton repair manual , fuse # 16 is a 15 amp fuse for the fuel gauge on a 1994 Ford Ranger
Follow the top radiator hose to where it connects to the engine . Looking from the front of the vehicle I believe the sensor on the left is for the engine temperature gauge and the sensor on the right is for the EEC-IV system
The 1994 Ford Ranger pickup truck map sensor is located behind the dashboard, on the passenger side of the passenger compartment. The map sensor is contained in a dust free box.

On a 4.0 V-6 the crank position sensor is in a fixed location and cannot come in contact with the crank if it is installed correctly.
According to www . motorcraft . com ( no spaces ) the IAT sensor is a thread in type for the engines in a 1994 Ford Ranger - so threaded into the upper area of the intake manifold somewhere

I don't think Chevy changed the location of the knock sensor. On my 1994 4.3 its on the left hand (drivers side). There are 2 sensors there, one of them is the temp gauge sending unit and the other is the knock sensor.
could be a bad sensor a bad gauge or a broken or disconnected wire
