According to my service guide its to the left of the Master Brake cylinder. Its black with a bit of a tower and a electrical connector to one side of the short tower

The EGR Valve on a 1999 Pontiac Firebird is located just to the left of the engine oil dipstick. There's nothing in the way so it's pretty easy to get to and replace. Hope this helps! -Erin
As I recall, that engine does not have an EGR valve.
