Should be in the middle of the engine at the back near the firewall (which is near the windshield) on the right side of the engine - it is a metal loop/handle dipstick.
there is no transmission dip stick on a 2001 Pontiac, chevy, olds, Buick front wheel drive with a 2.4, the only way to add fluid is through a fill hole located on top of the tranny, straight down from the front edge of the power brake booster, but there is no way to know how much is in it, you have to drop the pan and empty it out, put the pan back on, then add 7 quarts, then it is at the right level, other than this there is no other way, alot of the newer trannys come without dip sticks, the one against the firewall is your oil dip stick, hope this helps harry
The transmission dipstick on a 1994 Pontiac Sunfire is located on the left side of the engine. It connects to the transmission via a long tube which also allows for adding transmission fluid.
The filter is located inside the transmission just inside the bottom pan.
A 2001 Pontiac Sunfire requires 1.8 quarts of DEXRON III fluid for the 5-speed manual transmission.
All of the transmission fluid is inside the transmission. There is no external reserve.
When changing the transmission fluid of any car, it is important to know how much fluid to put in. A 2001 Pontiac Sunfire takes 2.5-3 quarts of transmission fluid.
Remove the transmission oil pan
syncromesh transmission fluid
Dexron III ATF.
1.8 qts
It does not need transmission fluid. you need to fill the clutch up
Some early model Sunfires have a dipstick. In my '96, the dipstick is located near the firewall, down and inboard from the brake fluid reservoir.
as far as i know you cant check the transmission fluid on a 2000 Pontiac sunfire. It uses dexcool automatic transmission fluid and very rarley needs to be changed, i have a manual shift and it never has to be changed. Actually the only way that you can change it is by having it flushed the same way you flush a radiator, it has to be sucked out by a machine.
