You probably will not like this answer. The fuel pump is inside the fuel tank. There is also an expensive sensor involved. A Chevrolet dealer charges in the neighborhood of $800 to replace all this. A note on fuel pumps. One of the WORST things you can do to a fuel pump is to run the vehicle out of fuel. The fuel is what cools the pump so when the tank runs dry, the fuel pump works without cooling and can be damaged. Usually the damage manifests itself on the next long trip you take. VBD There is no inertia switch like Ford has to shut off the fuel in case of an accident.
