upper right by the dash board On the impalas the hazard flasher is built into the hazard switch on the dash. The front of the dash must be removed in order to get to the hazard/turn signal switch, (not as hard as it sounds). remove fuse panels on both sides of dash. under each remove one screw. Remove two screws above instrument cluster. Unclip panel right above pedals. Remove two more screws. Dash panel should be ready to be removed, remove slowly it is secured by clips all the way across. Before You start, You should lower the steering wheel to the full down position and have the car's shift lever all the way down into (low Drive........I think). The hazard turn signal switch shoulb be just right of the instrument cluster.
Flasher is incorporated with Hazard module. Remove front of dash to replace
Maybe part of the hazard warning module
The newer GM vehicles incorporate the turn signal flasher with the hazard warning module
The hazard flasher on a 2000 Mercury Cougar is located under the dash on the driver's side of the vehicle. It is in the slot next to the turn signal flasher above the brake pedal.

I had a problem with my 2004 Impala. The flashers would freeze intermittently, both turn signal and hazards. Therefore I suspected a defective flasher unit. It seems that the hazard switch and flasher are a combined unit and reqiures some dissassembly of the dash to retreive the unit and replace it.AnswerI had to replace the turn signal flasher on my 2000 Impala it is the same unit as the 4 way flasher. The button for the 4 way on the dash is the flasher unit you have to pop off the front of the dash off to get to it there is about 8 screws 2 on the very ends under the fuse covers 2 on the panel under the steering wheel and 2 up by the speed odometer then you pop off the face off the dash be carefull not to brake off the clips Vaughn The flasher unit is a SEPARATE unit located on the left side of the steering column. It costs about $ 15.00 from a NAPA dealer, part # EP 28.The hazard switch costs about $50.00 at NAPA dealer. Chev dealer cost is $95.00The flasher unit and hazard switch work through the same system according to the technician at NAPA. He suggested changing the flasher unit for $15.00 before spending the $50.00 for the hazard warning unit/.
The flasher is a type of switch that regulates the turning on and off of your vehicle's turn signals and hazard signals.
It is in the engine compartment, specifically in the fuse box.
check fuses first... but chances are the flasher, which IS the hazard switch, is faulty... simple to replace ... just remove the left and right fuse box covers and the main dash panel.... replace switch and reinstall panels... be careful of the high beam switch because it seems to get in the way
the flasher and hazards are all in one . if flashers are bad check hazard switch on dash. remove trim plate and remove screw that holds flasher switch in.
Either in the "Power Center" under the hood on the passenger side strut tower, or in the in-cabin fuse center on the passenger side. Open passenger front door and there's a fuse panel door to pull off on the side of the dash. The above answer is incorrect. The turn signal flasher is incorporated into the hazard warning switch on the dash. You have to remove the vent next to the hazard warning switch to get the unit out. The entire unit must be replaced.
On the 2000 Chrysler concorde its under the steering column
