The flasher relay is located under the dash on the driver's side. It is up in the dash above the regular small fuses. You have to take the lower dash panel out to get to the relay. It is also a OEM part. Mine cost $60.00. The generic brand flasher from Auto Zone did not work.

It's located to the left of the steering wheel column, behind molded panel. Raise adjustable wheel to highest position for easier install.
Remove the large molded panel directly under the steering wheel (three Phillips screws on bottom). Pull outward to dislodge top clips. Remove metal shroud (two upper Phillips screws), lift up and out. Relay is plugged into black loose-hanging socket, inches below light switch. Kind of difficult to reach. Use flat head screwdriver to pry old relay away from socket[may have old tape on the side]
I replaced Chrysler brand relay (56021551, TBB89, 50732) with Tridon.Stant unit EP27, 5-prong, purchased at AutoZone for $14 [$13 plus tax]. The relay controls turn signals and emergency flasher. (My emergency flasher had not failed - it was just the turn signals that did not work.)
Note: In another case, the signals worked when cold, but stopped after warming.
I had the same problem and tried the above solution to no evail. On my 01 Cherokee this relay controls the hazards, batt light, turn signals. I tried to use a napa part but nothing happened. I went to the dealer and paid $45, plugged it in and was good to go.
I found it somewhere different: After removing the the plastic molded panel as mentioned above, I found the relay was mounted into a box directly ABOVE the normal inside fuse box. It's located to the left of the stering column, right above the fuse box. You will see a few other larger type black and silver plugins that look like the relay. I jiggled mine and it just started working so I'm returning the one I paid to the rip-off dealer ($58)
This works! I have a 2001 Jeep Cherokee Classic 4x4. Auto Zone had the part for the lowest price in my area ($16). O'Reily's was $52. The only difference I can tell is that the blinkers are quieter than before, which isn't a bad thing because they were fairly loud and annoying.
If I remember correctly it is under the dash to the left of the steering column. Both, turn signal and hazzard flasher are both there.
It is attached to the steering column under the dash with a clip. You need to pull the cover to look up under the dash. it is on the left hand side of the steering column.
