The 2003 Mondeo does not have a IAT Sensor is has a Temperature and Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor (TMAP) The TMAP sensor fits directly into the inlet manifold and accurately measures the vacuum from the engine. The TMAP sensor consists of a temperature sensor and a pressure transducer and therefore replaces the IAT and the MAP sensors. The TMAP sensor provides the powertrain control module with information relating to inlet manifold vacuum and barometric pressure along with the temperature of the air in the inlet manifold. With the ignition on but without the engine running the sensor reads barometric pressure and when the engine is running, the sensor reads inlet manifold vacuum.

This is for fuel injected:Removal & InstallationDisconnect the negative battery cable.Relieve fuel system pressure.Disconnect the ignition coil.Remove the upper intake manifold.Disconnect the vacuum line to the regulator.Remove the snap ring from the regulator housing.Place a towel under the regulator to absorb any spilled fuel and remove the pressure regulator from the fuel rail socket.Remove the pressure regulator from the fuel rail.Remove the pressure regulator O-ring filter, O-ring backup and O-ring and discard them.Exploded view of the pressure regulator assembly-MFI systemsTo install:Before installing the O-rings, lubricate them with clean engine oil and install them on the regulator inlet as a complete assembly.Install the snap ring retainer into the slot on the regulator housing.Connect the vacuum line to the regulator.Ensure that the retainer is properly seated in the slot in the regulator housing. Pull on the regulator to make sure that it is properly seated.Connect the negative battery cable.Turn the ignition ON for 2 seconds and then turn itOFF for 10 seconds. Again turn the ignition ON and check for leaks.Install the manifold plenum.
This answer relates to an automobile fuel pressure regulator. The most common form of fuel pressure regulator is an inline chamber where the fuel enters before entering the engine. There is a diaphragm that is spring loaded on the side with the spring tension "pointing" at the fuel inlet. Normally, the pressure is preset to a desired pressure reading. Since the fuel pressure created by the fuel pump is higher than the desired pressure, the regulator keeps the pressure to the injectors at a steady desired pressure. Many fuel systems use a vacuum source to the diaphragm also to allow the pressure to go up when the vacuum drops away, such as on hard acceleration. Another feature of most fuel pressure regulators is a return port. This allows fuel in excess of the desired fuel pressure to return to the tank.

There is no modulator on that model. There is a vacuum modulator on early Borg Warner 'boxes that screws into the rear of the box and connected by hose to the inlet manifold. It won't drop into top gear if the unit is faulty e.g. a hole in the diaphragm or, the small hole in the small metal pipe that goes in the inlet manifold that the hose is conected to is blocked.
The warm up regulator is located underneath the inlet manifold. The best way to desribe it is as a small ally box with a fuel inlet and a fuel outlet, and they're slightly different sizes so that they don't get muddled up. It also has a twip pin plug.
Air does not come out of an intake mainfold, because the intake manifolds are under a vacuum. Now exhaust manifolds, that a different story.
The high pressure side is the discharge side. It runs from the compressor outlet to the metering device inlet. The low pressure side is the vacuum side. It runs from the metering device outlet to the compressor inlet.

could be sucking air through inlet manifold spray wd 40 around inlet manifold with engine running see if engine tone changes if it does chances are manifold gasket needs replacing, also check vacuum pipes for damage hope this helps
Depending on the engine, if your car has the v-8, the fuel pressure is regulated by the fuel pump output. Normal pressure would be 6-9 psi at the carb inlet.
