Where you can get a list of Cars that are built in Japan but are sold in US?

I am also looking for this list as you are. I have not found a "list of cars built in Japan", but the very first character of the VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) designates "Country of Origin". Not sure how these were determined as "1 thru 4" means USA; "J" indicates that the vehicle was built in Japan. New cars are required to have stickers listing "% of parts by country of origin" and "country built". Currently searching internet inventories for a new car, I was surprised to see that most Hondas and Toyotas had 1, 2, 3 or 4...built in USA. Confusion starts as I am finding 2009 Corollas with numbers (USA) and J (Japan). I'm considering a 2009 "J" Corolla if I can find one I like. It looks like J Toyotas are dwindling in the USA except for RAV4s. I have not found a Corolla S yet with a J VIN...just USA numbers. I've check individual car specification on Yahoo and there's a part that say where the car manufacturer origin is and it will specify the country where it is assembled . i've checked that Mazda 3 , MPV5 and Honda S2000, are still manufactured in Japan and shipped here in USA .
