Cheese has been made for thousands of years in every part of the world. It doesn't come from any one country. As different varieties of cheese were developed they were associated with the places that first developed them. So Cheddar for example came from Cheddar in England. But cheese on the whole developed all over the world not in one country.
Cheese has been around for so long, it's impossible to know who invented the art of making it. It's generally believed that cheese first appeared in the Middle East, perhaps as far back as 6,000 BC.
Cheese was thought to have been invented by accident in ancient Arabia. A traveler was given milk in a goat stomach pouch which contained certain acid that are still used in cheese making today. As he traveled across the hot desert the sun warmed the goat stomach pouch which separated the milk into curds and whey making cheese. This became popular because milk would spoil quickly and cheese would last much longer.
Cheese comes from all over the world, and has been made since not long after mankind first discovered that milk from other mammals could be used as food - long before recorded history.
Some types of cheese today are associated with particular countries, for example:
Edam, Gouda - The Netherlands
Feta, or Fetta, Metsovone - Greece
Mozzarella, Parmigiano (Parmesan), Romano - Italy
Cheddar, Leicester, Stilton - United Kingdom
Camembert, Brie, Roquefort, Munster - France
Quesillo, Zamorano - Spain
Jarlsberg - Norway
Emmental - Switzerland
There are many more cheeses, and many more cheese-producing countries, than in the above list. Each country, and frequently different regions within countries, produce their own traditional and modern types of cheese, and worlwide there are thousands of different styles and types of cheese.
