While they were opponents, they did not actually have a war going on that was hot, they weren't shooting at each other. There were numerous engagements with others that were bullets were flying. |}

The Soviet Union, (U.S.S.R.,Russia) and the United States (U.S., United States of America).
The cold war was between the United States and the Soviet Union (Russia). It was not actually a war! It involved the "race for space", which referred to Russia sending Sputnik to the moon, so the United States wanted to send a man to the moon in a somewhat childish attempt to beat Russia.
