Wellbutrin (bupropion) is considered an atypical antidepressant with a similar structure to amphetamine. The stimulant actions tend to supress appetite, which is why it would not be prescribed for an anorexic, because it would assist them in the starvation process. Bulemics also tend to withhold meals and exercise excessively for extended periods before they 'binge and purge'. Wellbutrin could also assist them in the 'between' periods of little food intake.

Can eating disorder and disordered eating be used interchangeably?

Usually, yes. Eating disorder implies a more specific problem. Disorded eating is more of a broad and loose term. interchangeably not really an Eating Disorder is a full blown psychological illness Disordered Eating is often used when its not yet full blown...or when the person is in recovery but still struggling a little. The problem is most people in western society has disordered eating....it can be considered disordered when the person is constantly dieting ("Yo Yo dieting") or just plain isn't eating healthy..which is everyone.....I don't like to use "Disorder Eating" when talking about Eating Disorders....they are different..Disordered Eating isn't severe and doesnt usually require professional help whereas Eating Disorders are serious deadly addictions that require years of professional help...the problem with disordered eating is it can easily become an Eating Disorder

Symptoms aside from aversion to food may include excessive exercise, self-induced vomiting, abuse of laxatives. Can you take Wellbutrin and Fioricet headache medicine together?

The simple answer is NO, you shouldn't.Excessive use or abrupt discontinuation of barbiturates and other sedatives after chronic ingestion may precipitate seizures in patients receiving Wellbutrin. Theoretically, barbiturates like Wellbutrin may also decrease the plasma concentrations and pharmacologic effects of Wellbutrin due to induction of hepatic CYP450 isoenzymes. The pharmacological response to Wellbutrin should be monitored more closely whenever a barbiturate is added to or withdrawn from therapy, and the Wellbutrin dosage adjusted as necessary. Although barbiturates and other sedatives may be prescribed to treat agitation, anxiety, and insomnia associated with Wellbutrin use, patients should be alerted to the possibility of an increased risk of seizures during excessive exposure to these drugs. Patients should not attempt to alter the dosages or discontinue the medications on their own without consulting with your physician. The use of bupropion is contraindicated in patients undergoing abrupt discontinuation of sedatives.
