In the Proclamation of 1763, King George III sold the land west of the Allegheny Mountains to Quebec. It did not matter that King George II had already sold the same land to Pennsylvania and Virginia. The British had extremely little respect for the settlers living in Ohio. That was in spite of the fact that American militias had run the French and Indians out of that area in the war and would ignore the Proclamation.
The proclamation of 1763 was, a series of laws saying that the colonists had to pay their duties\taxes on their everyday items that they spend money on. King George III issues these laws because the British helped the colonists fight off the French and Indian during the French and Indian War.
